If you’ve been thinking about upgrading an aging heating and cooling system, this summer may provide the ideal opportunity. Thanks to rebates from Lennox and a host of energy-based federal tax credits,
Connecticut residents can save as much as $1,900 when purchasing a qualifying Lennox Home Comfort System.
The Lennox Home Comfort System features everything you need to get started on the path to long-term comfort and energy savings, including a thermostat and your choice of:
- Central air conditioning or heat pump
- Gas or oil furnace
- Air cleaner or other indoor air quality system
The savings begin with $1,100 back in Lennox manufacturer rebates for the aforementioned bundle. For those considering solar energy, an additional $300 is available when installing four or more Lennox brand solar modules. In addition, depending on the components you have chosen as part of your Lennox Home Comfort System, you may be eligible for up to $500 back thanks to the 2011 federal tax credits for energy efficiency.
For those homeowners who are only interested in replacing certain components of their system, federal tax credits are still available on qualifying models. For example, depending on the systems you choose, you could receive tax credits of:
- $300 on eligible electric heat pumps and central air conditioners
- $150 on eligible boilers and furnaces
If the advanced main air circulating fan on your tax-eligible furnace uses less than 2 percent of the energy the furnace consumes, you may be eligible for an additional $50. If the fan qualifies but the furnace does not, you may still be eligible for 30 percent back on the total costs of the fan.
For those making the upgrade to geothermal, qualifying systems are eligible for 30 percent back on the total costs of the upgrade.
Remember, these great deals won’t last forever:
- Lennox manufacturer rebates expire Aug. 26, 2011
- Tax credits on HVAC upgrades are good through 2011.
- Geothermal tax credits are available on installations through 2016.
